Season ends on high note
The Fett Svin crew ended the 2011 competition year at Oinktoberfest in Clarence, NY. Dandelion wine, flying dishes and Leinenkugel’s Oktoberfest brews were in order as we celebrated our best year yet.
A look back:
We began the year, as always, at Roc City where our ribs were 10 out of over 130 entries in Saturday’s Open competition. In Sunday’s KCBS Fett Svin received our first Top 10 call in Pork Shoulder of the year.
From there the Viking I Mobile Landraider moved to Boston Hills, NY where nasty weather could not prevent a 2nd place call in Ribs and a 4th place in Pork Shoulder.
Brockport, NY was the next location to be pillaged and plundered where we received our first Top 10 calls of the year in Chicken and Brisket.
This past weekend at Oinktoberfest Chicken placed 6th and our Pork Shoulder received its third Top 10 call of the year. A Top 10 overall was a gratifying end to 2011. The Fett Svin crew also finished in the Top 20 in the Empire State Series once again in a year with record entries.
The crew would like to thank everyone who came out to support, eat, drink and make merry. While the comps are over for a year Fett Svin is far from finished for 2011. We are still taking bookings and we will be at Abilene Bar & Lounge in Rochester for shows in October and November. Next weekend Fett Svin will be at the Gourd & Pumpkin Fest in Honeoye, NY from 2-5pm.
Highlights at the Abilene include the Lustre Kings and Commander Cody, it just keeps getting better.
Lagom.
